Models (in) Express Fall/Winter 2011.12 Fashion Show
On July 23, Express Fashion broke the Guinness World record for the most people to walk on a fashion runway. They passed the previous record of 521 that was set by Galeries Lafayette in Paris in 2010. The public was encouraged to come and “model” on the catwalk. 1,243 people came out to break the record for 9 hours in Times Square. Later that evening, high fashion models and the faces of Express Spring/Summer 2011 and Fall/Winter 2011.12 campaigns strutted the runway in a glamorous fashion show, introducing what to expect in stores this fall. Runway veteran model and actress Daria Strokous opened the show, and rising star Dutch model Bregje Heinen closed.

Ataui Deng (in) Model’s Street Style
After Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2012, the adorable Ataui stopped for some pictures. She also walked the Oscar de la Renta and Lanvin resort shows this season. The Sudanese beauty is currently the face of Kenzo and Express Spring/Summer 2011. She will continue as one of the faces of Express for Fall/Winter 2011.12.

Times Square, July 2011 - After the Express FW 11.12 fashion show, I caught up with models Terese, Ataui, and Kortney. These three are so fabulous! Terese will be debuting on the fashion week runways this September. Will share more about her with you soon! And Ataui and Kortney are both married. They are such a beautiful and sweet couple!

I am starting 2011 on the right foot by continuing to stand up and be vocal and visual in what I truly believe in, which is beauty is diverse! Beauty comes in all heights, sizes, shades, and colors. If it were not for our differences, then we will not be able to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of otherness, of nature, of diversity, of the broad universe. But most of all, remember that beauty is only an idea and there is no concrete definition of what is beautiful because beauty is everything even when we cannot see it with our eyes.
