Ruffian SS 2012 (in) Backstage New York Fashion Week

Glad to be able to share a part of my fashion week adventures with WLYK, whose founders share my love and respect for the models and designers of New York Fashion Week. Thanks so much to Brian Wolk and Claude Mora, the the designers behind the label, and their amazing team for always supporting Bonae L’amour. Runway photos will be shared soon!

WLYK went backstage at the Ruffian S/S 12 show with Bonae L’amour in a special collaboration and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. Getting to chat with the designer duo as well as the stunning new faces in the cast was an surreal experience and we hope you enjoy the photos as much as we did the experience. We’d like to give Damian a huge thank you for providing us with these beautiful photos.

Happy Halloween from the V Magazine Party!

I had a great time last night at the V Magazine Halloween Party. I was the Dalai Llama. I was a little late to the party because I had a wardrobe malfunction… Basically, my pants were not holding up, thus, I had to spend more time making sure I would not unnecessarily flash my goods at anyone, especially as a monk.

When I arrived, there was a nice drag show going on and it was very crowded. Naturally, at social events, I am really really really shy. To be honest, I can be very awkward — it’s the natural nerd in me. I saw many familiar modeling faces and some that probably were familiar, but I could not identify them under the makeup, masks, and costumes. I was quite nervous, quiet, and just shy during the first hour there. I wonder if I am alone in that it takes some time for me to loosen up and be comfortable. I had my camera in my bag and was afraid to be the lam-o always with his camera, especially when he is not there to do any reporting. Personally, I was there that night to support my friend Sui He, who is one of the cover girls of V #74.

Anyway, at the end of the night, I was able to break out of my shell and had some fun dancing and happily taking pictures. I missed out on a lot of the models who were there at the beginning of the party, but the ones featured here are some familiar faces who have again and again been so supportive, kind, and loving to me - the shy photographer. Thanks for inspiring me girls!
